You can reserve and rent a storage unit completely online. Select your storage unit size, finish the rental process from your phone or computer, and receive your move-in details digitally so you can access your unit when it works best for you.
All storage rentals are month-to-month for added flexibility.
What do I need to rent a storage unit?
To rent a storage unit, you'll need a valid government-issued photo ID and a payment method for your rental. If you're storing a vehicle, RV, or boat, proof of registration and insurance are also required. You can complete the rental process online in just a few minutes and receive your access information electronically.
Can I move into my storage unit without visiting the office?
Yes. Move-ins can be completed remotely through our online rental system, allowing for a simple contact-free move-in experience.
Do you offer month-to-month storage rentals?
Yes, all our leases are month-to-month for your convenience. You can rent for as much time as you need. If you wish to store long-term, ask our staff about our prepayment discounts for longer-term rentals.
Are long-term storage discounts available?
Yes we offer discounts for extended rentals or prepaid storage terms. Contact the facility directly to learn more about our current offers.
What payment options do you accept?
We accept major credit cards, checks, and money orders. We also offer online bill pay and autopay options for your convenience.
What determines the cost of a storage unit?
Storage pricing is based on factors like unit size, unit type, location, and current availability. Rates may also vary depending on features such as drive-up access or specialty storage options.

How much does RV, boat, or vehicle storage cost?
Vehicle storage pricing depends on the size of the vehicle and the type of parking space available at that location. Some Backyard Storage locations offer uncovered vehicle parking, while availability varies by property.

Is storage insurance required?
Yes. Insurance coverage is required to help protect stored belongings. Customers may purchase storage protection through the facility or provide proof of an existing renters or homeowners policy, when applicable. (excludes RV/Boat/Vehicle Insurance).
Can I transfer to another storage unit later?
Yes. If a different storage unit size becomes available, you may be able to transfer to another unit that better fits your storage needs.

When can I access my storage unit?
Access hours vary by location, but our facilities are designed to provide convenient year-round access. You can find the specific access hours for your location on the facility’s webpage.
Do you offer drive-up storage units?
Yes, our locations offer drive-up storage units that let you pull your vehicle directly alongside your unit. Drive-up access makes loading and unloading furniture, equipment, boxes, and business inventory more efficient.
Do I need to purchase my own storage lock?
No. Storage units are equipped with high-security locking systems. After renting a unit, your access code will be sent via text after scanning the code on your lock. If you need help, our team can assist you.
What amenities are available at your storage facilities?
At Backyard Storage, we pride ourselves on offering clean, secure facilities. Our facilities offer drive-up access storage units, climate control storage units, wide drive aisles, convenient online rentals, and secure gated entry to improve customer experience and security.
Do you provide pest control services?
Yes, we provide pest control services. Our facilities receive monthly professional pest control service to help maintain clean storage facilities and minimize pest activity.
What security features do your storage facilities offer?
Security features include 24/7 video surveillance, on-site management, electronic gated entry, individual high security locks for every unit, and a fully fenced property.

How do I know what size storage unit to rent?

What’s the best way to organize a storage unit?

How should I prepare before moving into storage?

We offer uncovered parking for all vehicle types including cars, trucks, trailers, RVs, boats, and recreational vehicles.
All stored vehicles must be operational, and have current registration and insurance.
How should I prepare a vehicle before storage?
Before storing a vehicle, remove food or perishable items, clean the interior, and turn off electronics. For longer-term vehicle storage, it is also recommended to check tire pressure, battery condition, and fluid levels.
For RVs and boats, empty tanks and remove moisture-sensitive items to help prevent odors or damage.
What documents are required for vehicle storage?
At Backyard Storage, we require proof of current registration and insurance.
What items are prohibited in a storage unit?
Hazardous, flammable, explosive, toxic, or perishable items are not permitted in storage units. This includes items such as gasoline, propane tanks, chemicals, fireworks, and food products.

Can businesses rent storage units?

Do you provide moving trucks?
No, moving trucks are not available for rent. However, we provide carts or dollies to help make moving items into storage easier.
